WHY DOES RUFFCUE NEED FOSTER HOMES?
RUFFCUE is a canine only service, our volunteers and the loving foster families we work with are the backbone of RUFFCUE. We depend on caring individuals to open their hearts and their homes to assist us in our effort to care for and maintain rescued, at risk, or in need dogs, until they can be rehomed with loving, committed adopters. Fosters will need to ensure the retention of the animal on site, fenced yards combined with tie outs are optimal. Please click HERE for a Foster Application. WHY SHOULD I FOSTER?
Fostering is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have (other than adopting of course). By caring for an animal in need temporarily in your home:
- You are saving the life of a deserving pet that might otherwise be euthanized through no fault of their own.
- You are able to enjoy watching a pet thrive and excel under your loving care.
- You will give the animal the opportunity to come into themselves and get to know who they really are.
- You get to enjoy having a pet temporarily, while still being able to vacation.
- You help us ensure the pet is given opportunity to find the best home possible.
- You get to assist the animal develop and that work goes into with them, to their happy future.
- Fostering is perfect for people who may want a part time pet, or are deciding what size, or activity level of dog they might prefer. "Try before you buy."
WHAT DOES FOSTERING FOR RUFFCUE INVOLVE?
All you need to be a foster parent is love, experience with dogs, and a willingness to make the commitment to help a pet get the care and attention need until we can find their forever family. Everything you need to maintain the pet such as food, toys, a crate and other supplies are provided. Most pets will come fully vetted or will be vetted shortly after coming into your care.
All of the pets you foster will have been matched based on your requirements, your family situation, and your abilities, to ensure there is an easy transition into your home.

We can only rescue as many dogs as we have foster home spots available.
