FLOWER: ADOPTED 27-May-2023
Ah spring, doom and gloom, rain and pain everywhere but at least this year we don't have flooding going on all over town, so there's that. If you have those seasonal blues and need you a bit of blue skies in your day, one look into these amazing eyes and Flower is sure to bring you smiles and inspiration to face down the day. Those ears though ...
Flower's DNA results came back to us as 62% Husky - 14% Malamute and 24% Boxer ... yes, boxer. He will mature into the fluffiest boxer you ever did see, and/or the only almost solid black Husky on the block. He will be very distinctive and his coat is showing signs of shading markings of a husky style on his forelegs, face, and a few other random spots. His bright blue eye will likely remain blue, but the "broken blue eye" will likely turn brown over the next few weeks. Husky puppies are all born with blue eyes and can change colour up to 16 weeks so - no guarantee on the eyes. Born March 1st by emergency C-Section to his rescued momma Misty, now at 8 weeks and 20 lbs Flower will likely mature into a 115 - 150 lb dog, he's going to be a very big fluffy boy. He's also the puppy who likes to pretend he hasn't learned english, everyone else needs to follow the rules, but me ... and general boxer goofiness.
Flower LOVES to play, and fight, and rabble rouse, and if you're wondering why "Flower?" When he was a bitty pup with his lil white stripes he looked like a baby skunk ... Flower. Bambi.
Flower is far less verbal than his littermates and will definitely have perky ears to match his perky personality. He has worn his collar for a couple of weeks and has successfully completed the "I don't eat my lead anymore" rehab course. Flower is good with stairs, doors, and overnights in crates and understands if there is destruction, he must oversee the cleanup from the confines of THE BOX. When asked to SIT Flower will pace and pretend "the rules do not apply to me" but give him a moment and he'll decide the treat is worth the "bending" He is great with going outside and waiting at the door, but as with all puppies will require continued reinforcement of good habits (wait, back off etc). Flower is one of 3 "singing cloud" Husky cross puppies born to Misty, and is currently ready for his furever home. We do not foresee any behavioural issues with Flower in regards to cats, or other 4 legged accomplices which can not be managed; and so he is good to head to a house with smaller kids (age 8 or older), and cats - with the understanding he is a pup, you will need to maintain "nicely," "not for you" and "leave it alone" - We firmly believe he will be an absolutely fabulous gem of an addition to someone's family.
If you can fill out the adoption form on the website that'd be fabulous. He'd be thrilled to meet you, and check out your knowledge of puppy play.
So yeah, If you are interested in assisting us with the final phase of rescuing Flower (giving him his furever home) he is ready to go. His adoption fee is $500. Please apply to finalize his rescue - here:
We appreciate all interest, and the time it takes for people to fill out the form; Flower will mature into a very large dog, and absolutely insists upon being atop the human, so his ideal home contains laps he will be able to lounge upon without smothering the person attached to it, and lots of work on "get off the human/watch the feet." (age 8; and older please.) Flower has the head shape of either parentage and fur markings of a boxer, with some husky shading coming in now, and Husky fur texture, plushness, and length. With his distinctive Boxer bone structure (short body, long legs), crazy eyes, and lightning flash on his chest, you can be sure no one else will have a dog that looks like your boy. Disposition wise he is just pure sunshine. He's a super friendly, happy, solidly built singing cloud, who doesn't look like he will drool but hey no promises, he is a boxer mix. At maturity, with your focused training, he will be an amazing buddy. Looking forward to meeting his beautiful people. Talk soon.
