Minookimi: ADOPTED 19-May-2023
Ah another beautiful spring day, smatters of sunshine, flashes of rain, bits of blue skies, all on a background of grey skies ... and lots of mud! Am I describing the weather, or the look of this stunning pup? Kind of makes you want to get out there and find some trouble, doesn't it?
If it does and you're looking for a rabble rousing, dusk to dawn, large ball of floof and fury, pull yourself on up your ATV and let me introduce you to this whirlwind of life and loveliness.
Meet Minookimi, we call her Minnow, Minook, or Minoo and our absolute favourite part of Minookimi is if you sing the muppet "Manu Manu" song she comes running, every time.
Minoo is a daily bit of sunshine and her lines come in showing that she will be a big fluffy dog, who will fare well chasing after you for extended periods of time. She was delivered by C-Section March 1st and will be getting her first set of shots and deworming on May 3rd. Minookimi is Misty's daughter, and a full on miracle puppy. 64% Husky/Malamute but she looks like that? Could be argued - Also a miracle. Prettiest Husky you will ever see. BAR - NONE.
We believe she will likely retain both blue eyes but as a husky pup they can change up to 16 weeks of age. Her ears are as perky as her attitude and demeanor, she does listen and pick up instruction extremely quickly. Minoo is food motivated, attention motivated, movement motivated - just a fur covered battery. She is very verbal and loves to "chat with you" and has a tendency to believe everything is "the end of the world," if you let her know it's not, she "knows what you mean." Minoo does ask to go out and as a pup will continue to need work in that regard. If she's howling she's telling you something, otherwise she's pretty chill. At 8 weeks old she is hitting on 20 lbs and this tells us she is set to grow into a giant size dog hitting the roughly 120 - 150 lb mark at maturity. She is absolutely stunning in her double thick, long merle coat, bright topaz blue eyes, and sparkling disposition.
She has worn a collar for a few weeks, she does know a lead, she does stairs, understands doors, does overnight in a crate, knows what "sit" means, may or may not "down" for you, but loves to shake a paw, ok and the other foot too; and like I said recalls to the muppet song. Go ahead, beat that for "fun."
It would be amazing for Minoo to find a home geared to her desire to climb and be perched atop the tallest piece of furniture in the house while surveying her "herd." Minoo is a "chase the herd and corner it" animal, she is agile, smart, and very keen to learn new tricks and share new experiences. If you've wanted to find a dog for agility work, rock climbing style of hiking, doggie parkour, doggie dancing, or other agility requiring circus tricks - this here, is your girl. If you're looking for a working dog period - we'd hope you might consider this crazy soft, crazy huge, crazy fun fluff bunny. While she is highly trainable, you will likely never break her of her need to herd small animals, small people, etc. and we wouldn't recommend trying to do so. Minoo needs a home where she is the dedicated attention fiend. She must rule, even if there are other pets, or people you must understand this is her domain, she will be first for the love. Cats will likely be her nemesis, as one can not herd cats, so no homes with cats please. Humans in her adult weight class would be ideal. Minoo is a very high energy, very job focused dog and with dedicated "on the job training" will prove to make someone a very good physical trainer, without mercy, who can do a lot of tricks.
If you are interested in checking Miss Minoo out, and can fill out the adoption form on the website that'd be fabulous. She'd be thrilled to meet you, and check out your fitness level.

While we appreciate all interest, and the time it takes for people to fill out the form; Minookimi can not be considered well suited to homes with cats due to her herding lines, and tendencies exhibited towards relentlessly herding smaller dogs. She will mature into a very large dog, and absolutely insists upon being RIGHT THERE, so her ideal home contains laps she will be able to lounge upon without smothering the person attached to it, with her superbly floofy furs. (Pre-teens and older please.) Minoo has the head shape and fur markings/length of a collie/Shetland but her fur texture, and body shape is very much husky. Disposition wise she is both. She's a super friendly, happy, solidly built singing cloud. At maturity, with your focused training, she will surely not disappoint. Her adoption fee is $500.
